Tzu Chi Foundation is an international non-profit charitable organization. Here in the United States, Tzu Chi was established in 1985 as a public support 501(C) (3) non-profit charitable organization based in Monrovia, California. Today, there are over 45 offices throughout the United States.

We are the Tzu Chi Pacific Islands Region (Hawaii Chapter), one of the 8 US chapters. Our chapter serves the Pacific Islands region, including Hawaii, American Samoa, Saipan, Guam, Micronesia, and Marshall Island. Our office is located at 1238 Wilhelmina Rise, Honolulu, HI 96816. Tzu Chi Pacific Islands Region (Hawaii Chapter) was established in 1996 by a group of Honolulu physicians and volunteers.

Currently, Hawaii Office is the Headquarter of Pacific Islands Region of Tzu Chi. Nationally, Tzu Chi's services include medical outreach missions, emergency care for individuals, long-term care for families and convalescent home visits. Internationally, Tzu Chi volunteers and Tzu Chi’s International Medical Association (TIMA) volunteer doctors have traveled to Honduras, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic to offer emergency relief. In 2001, Tzu Chi Foundation responded to the events of Sept. 11th by providing families with emergency cash assistance. Tzu Chi volunteers provided emergency care and financial support to many during the tornado disaster in Kansas and Missouri in 2003. More recently, Tzu Chi has provided relief for the Katrina victims.
