I. About Tzu Chi Southern Region
The Tzu Chi Southern Regional office is located in southwest Houston’s Chinatown. Modeled after the Jing Si Hall in Hualien, the building is located on over four acres between an office building and a retirement home. Open in November, 1996, the building is an outstanding example of Chinese architecture in the United States.
In addition to Houston, the Southern Region has offices in Atlanta, Austin, Point Comfort, Orlando, Miami, New Orleans, and San Antonio, as well as two Tzu Chi Academies in Houston and Atlanta. Members strive to promote Tzu Chi's four missions and eight footprints: Charity, Medicine, Education, Humanistic Culture, Bone Marrow Donation, Environmental Protection, Community Volunteerism, and International Relief.
