Jose’s Love Breakfast Warms People’s Hearts

“Whenever I see a homeless person feeling warmth after receiving food, I also feel the warmth. I feel very happy to be able to bring others a day of joy.” On November 24, 2013, at 7:00 AM in the late autumn, Tzu Chi community volunteers were in action in the chilly air, busily preparing and getting ready to pass out breakfast to the homeless. The Sunday Love Breakfast has been conducted in San Jose now for 13 years. The city of San Jose is located in the Silicon Valley; it has a high number of immigrants, as well as the third-highest average income and average home cost. It is also a good example of the huge differences between the rich and poor. Master Cheng Yen’s Jing Si Aphorism says, “When we care for others with deep sincerity, our heart of love is the noble seed that brings great blessings.” Tzu Chi volunteers understand cause and effect, as well as the need to cultivate all parts of the community by giving homeless people warmth and caring.Read more...
