From receiving to giving, grateful parents become volunteers

“It’s true, some parents are greedy, if Tzu Chi doesn’t distribute foods, they will get the food from somewhere else; but when Tzu Chi is here, at least it will also bring humanitarian culture of Tzu Chi to them.” In San Francisco, many Tzu Chi branches are distributing foods to people who meet the criteria of low-income earners.  Some residents have even been reported to have sold the food for cash on the street.  Some community volunteers started to doubt the distribution and even stopped their work.  However, Tzu Chi volunteers believe that “We do the right thing no matter how difficult it is.”  After four years of hard working, they began to see positive actions.Read more...
