Delivering Jing Si Aphorisms to Virginia Detention Center

On the afternoon of September 16, 2013, three Tzu Chi Washington D.C. volunteers, Clara Cheng, Zheng Huaisong and Zhang Chunmei, met with Chaplain Bob Milne at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center in Virginia to introduce Tzu Chi and Jing Si Aphorisms. Chaplain Milne said that many of the inmates need spiritual counseling and that many church groups have visited, but Tzu Chi was the first Buddhist organization to care for the inmates. Even though the inmates are not very familiar with Buddhism, he still believed that the Buddhist concepts can soothe their hearts and hoped that Tzu Chi could donate 100 copies of Jing Si Aphorisms (translated into four languages) for the inmates.Read more...
