Video Director, Location: San Dimas, CA


Humanistic Cultural Services- Media Production Center, Tzu Chi Foundation, U.S.A. has an immediate opening for Video Director. The Video Director is responsible for promoting Tzu Chi’s Humanistic Cultural Missions. Develop individual service plans and prepare reports.
Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must be bilingual in Chinese and English with knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must also be able to work on weekends to fulfill position duties. In addition, reliable transportation with an acceptable driving record and a valid drivers' license is needed. Must pass the Department of Justice background check.

Job Descriptions:

The applicants should have a good eye, imagination, and creativity, must have a friendly personality and strong communication skills. Must have the experience of video, or motion picture camera to photograph images or scenes for various purposes, such as TV broadcasts, advertising, video production, or motion pictures.

Gather and edit raw footage on location to send to television affiliates for broadcast, using electronic news-gathering or video production equipments.

Observe sets or locations for potential problems and to determine filming and lighting requirements. Read and analyze work orders and specifications to determine locations of subject material, work procedures, sequences of operations, and machine setups. Test and maintain equipment to ensure proper working condition.


Skill Requirements:

1.  Must be familiar with Mac system and Final Cut Studio 3 for video editing /post-production.

2.  Good technical understanding of how the camera operates.

3.  The knowledge of common auditorium set up and event operation.

4.  The knowledge of audio, video and multimedia integration.


Education Requirements:

Television, video, and motion picture camera operators and editors acquire the skills through colleges, universities, or photographic institutes and a bachelor’s degree is required.


Language Requirements: Chinese and English / bilingual.
